Grand County, CO – No one was home during a violent explosion inside a Grand Lake home on Sunday morning.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion at 45 County Road 475, but propane is suspected.
Neighbors heard the blast, which blew out the homes windows, knocked off siding and scattered debris across the yard and nearby area.
The explosion left the home still standing, but there was major damage throughout the inside of the structure.
Thankfully, no one was inside at the time of the explosion, and there were no pets there either, said Lt. Dan Mayer, spokesman for the Grand County Sheriffs Office.
Authorities have contacted the homeowners, who are from Texas. They purchased the property for $430,000 in February and had been staying at the home until as recently as a couple days ago.
