Milnor, ND – Investigators believe a newly-installed furnace may have caused an explosion that leveled a home Saturday morning in Milnor, N.D.

Sargent County Sheriff Travis Paeper tells KFGO News there were no injuries. The home was destroyed.He says a small fire caused by the explosion was quickly extinguished.

Paeper says the home was vacant when the explosion happened at around 10:10 a.m.He says people were inside the home just a few hours before the blast.

Paeper says the home was being renovated and that investigators believe a recently installed propane furnace was the cause.The sheriff says the blast could be heard and felt several blocks away.

The North Dakota Fire Marshal’s office will investigate the explosion.
