East Lake Okoboji, IA- WHOTV -The investigation continues into a boat explosion at a gas dock on East Lake Okoboji (OH’-kih-BOH’-jee) in northwest Iowa yesterday.
The 35-foot cabin cruiser blew up yesterday afternoon.
The Department of Natural Resources says they had put gas in each of the tanks on board and were trying to restart the boat when the blast occurred.
Seven people were on or near the boat at the time. Three were hurt.
D-N-R spokesman Mick Klemesrud says they remain hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
They are 29-year Jenny Block of Rock Port, Missouri; seven-year-old Trevor Holmes, also of Rock Port, Missouri; and Jerry Block of Lake Park.
The others were not injured.
