BelRidge, MO – Investigators are still trying to figure out for sure what caused a house explosion Thursday in the St. Louis suburb of Bel-Ridge, though natural gas is suspected.

A child and two adults were critically burned; all three were in critical condition at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center.

The explosion happened just before 7:00 a.m. Thursday in the north St. Louis County town.

Bomb and arson detectives were looking into the explosion, as was a crew from Laclede Gas Co.

Earlier this week a man in Fenton just escaped being hurt when his house was destroyed in a natural gas explosion.
