OH – A natural gas leak is being blamed for an explosion which led to a small fire at a vacant house in Akron Tuesday.

The estimated loss to the house on Carpenter Street is $10,000. No one was hurt.

Firefighters say the explosion blew out the home’s windows.

Investigators are trying to pinpoint the cause of the leak and the explosion.

It is the second natural gas explosion in Akron in less than a week. Last week a home was destroyed after firefighters say scap metal thieves stole the home’s steel gas pipe leaving the gas line wide open.
