Los Angeles, CA- Building Destroyed In LA Explosion, One Dead

A two story building in Los Angles has been destroyed after a violent natural gas explosion, killing at least one person.

The front of the building collapsed, rescuers are looking for other possible victims.

Fire officials have said people were hurled from the building into the street and wedged beneath parked cars.

At least one person was pinned under the axle of a car.

Fire Captain Steve Ruda has said the explosion shook the building housing a welding operation at 6.15am local time.

A massive fire has been extinguished but at the height more than 100 firefighters were tackling it.

Search dogs are looking for more victims but the splintered wreckage of the building is posing a danger to firefighters.
