NY – Fire investigators now believe they know what caused a massive house explosion in Cazenovia. The home may have exploded Sunday as a result of a methane gas leak. The Cazenovia fire department was called to the house on Gorge Road (Route 13 North) just before nine Sunday morning. When they arrived, it was completely engulfed in flames.

A man and woman were standing outside of the home after escaping the flames. Both were taken to Upstate Medical’s burn unit after sustaining burns to their faces and bodies. The male victim is said to be in critical condition and the female is in serious condition.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time there’s been a fire at this house. The cause of the first explosion three years ago was never determined.
