Eufaula, OK- An explosion that leveled one home and damaged three others Monday has been attributed to a propane leak in the house, officials said.

The propane leak is a preliminary finding, said Eufaula Police Detective Wesley Dawson. A state fire marshal assisted in the investigation.

One more person needs to be interviewed, Dawson said. That person is a maintenance worker for the owner of the home that was destroyed.

The home was owned by Bryce McKinney. He said it was valued at more than $250,000.

The explosion was in the Sherwood Forest area of Eufaula, across from Eufaula Cove, Dawson said.

Deborah Reheard, a Eufaula attorney whose offices are near downtown, said her office building shook during the explosion.

“We ran outside and saw a huge black plume of black smoke,” she said.
