Sandy Township, PA- The Pennsylvania Public Utility commission has ordered the National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation to pay thousands of dollars for a gas explosion that happened in 2004.

The explosion happened at a home in the Sylvan Heights neighborhood of Sandy Township, Clearfield County, killing two people.

The PUC says National Fuel must invest $30,000 to make their systems safer and must give $100,000 to their “Neighbor for Neighbor Heat Fund”. The program helps people in need pay their energy bills.

The order will be final in fifteen days unless National Fuel files an appeal.
