Flordell Hills, MO- The St. Louis County house explosion in Flordell Hills, Friday, demolished one home and made 27 others temporarily uninhabitable.
Signs posted on the front doors of several homes on Beldon Drive, as well as nearby streets Ramsey and Lamont, read “Unfit for Human Occupancy.”
Flordell Hills Code Enforcement Officer Dennis Oglesby said residents cannot get back into the houses until homeowners arrange for structural inspections through their insurance companies.
Sunday at Flordell Hills City Hall, Oglesby or other city officials will be available to answer questions regarding the topic from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Meanwhile the investigation into the cause of that explosion appears to be focusing on natural gas. According to St. Louis County Police, bomb and arson crews are no longer involved in the investigation. At the same time, Laclede Gas officials say they found no leaks on the gas line leading into the home.
