Swanton, MS- Family Escapes Injury When Propane Tank Explodes
(AP) SWANTON, Md. The state fire marshal’s office says a Harford County family escaped injury Saturday night when a propane tank
exploded behind their Garrett County vacation home.
The explosion caused about $5,000 in damage to the home near Swanton.
Investigators say the blast occurred about 6 p.m. when the 100 pound gas cylinder ruptured. The fire marshal’s office says the home’s owner had taken the tank to be filled about three hours before the explosion.
The explosion did not cause a fire but several windows were broken and concrete foundation blocks were damaged.
Members of the family, who were inside the home at the time, were not injured.
