Rose Hill, KS- KWCH, Clinton Griffiths – A Butler County family hopes to rebuild after an explosion destroyed their home early Tuesday. It happened while the couple and their five girls were on vacation in Branson, Missouri.
Neighbors say they felt the shake and heard the explosion.
It happened near Rose Hill.
The family returned home to see what was left Tuesday afternoon after a friend called to tell them about the explosion.
Kevin and Kathy Nutsch say they thought the call was a joke until they also heard from the Fire Marshall.
They say they’re thankful no one was home and no one was hurt. But they say the damage is devastating.
Investigators say the cause was a propane leak that filled the house with the gas until it exploded.
