MI – An explosion destroyed two homes on Ferris Street early this morning, and severely damaged another, the fire department reported.
Officials suspect a natural gas leak led to the explosion that leveled the home at 87 Ferris just before 5 a.m. The home was apparently vacant.
“Nobody was hurt, thank God,” said Capt. Pat McClelland.
The home at 91 Ferris was damaged and collapsed and a third home — still standing — was heavily damaged and is not livable, he said.
The scene is located just northeast of Woodward at John R.
